![]() So imagine how valuable an exotic fruit like pineapple would have been a few years ago. And we know that transportation greatly affects the cost of everything. ![]() We can have anything from bananas or mangos to strawberries and apples anytime we want. Transportation has changed so much in the past seventy-five years, and now trucks arrive at grocery stores all over the country filled with fresh fruits and vegetables from all over the world. Since our picturesque mountain home won’t grow anything citrus and even apples have to be harvested and safely stored pretty early in the fall, fruit at Christmastime has to come from far away and would be rather a luxury in horse-drawn days. I imagine the church’s bags had very similar origins. Now, it’s not hard to theorize that this man, whose childhood held few treats and for whom poverty had been a constant companion, reveled in the relative wealth of having a whole box of fruit both to enjoy and to share. There would be peppermint candy and chocolate drops in the house at this time as well. My Grandpa, who had little input to the regular grocery shopping, would always make a point as the holiday season approached to go buy a big box of apples and another of oranges. And it got me to thinking about where that tradition may have originated.įruit at Christmas time is a deep tradition for our family, and I think for most folks on the mountain. We’ve stopped handing these out at my church and while fruit is readily available to me and I eat way too much candy, I found that I missed the little bag this Sunday. Handed to each guest, it was an unexpected and exciting little brown paper bag. Revenue could be a 1 time fee to unlock the feature, or monetize by playing an ad in order to be able to play a new custom challenge. One of my Christmas memories is the goody bag the church always gave out after their Christmas program. I think this would vastly increase the exposure, playability & revenue for this game. Filters & ability for players to flag could be used to ensure inappropriate language is not used in the clues. Those custom challenges could even be rated by other players. The custom challenges could be made by forwarding to friends or by being accessed by anyone on a server. One thing I feel that would totally sky rocket this game to the another level and that I would absolutely LOVE to see would be the ability for players to create their own custom list of hidden objects (with customized clues) to find and then challenge other players to find them. The clues, scenes & sounds are so creative, clever & humorous. I enjoy just opening & tapping on things just to discover what all can be manipulated. Love the added element of interactivity to open doors, dig in snow piles, pressing buttons and shifting objects in order to unearth & find the object you are looking for. This is definitely challenging but still so enjoyable to play! Refreshing take on hidden object puzzles! ![]() I look forward to seeing what other weirdness you folks get into. I’m sure it was a profound labor of love for everyone involved, as well as an exercise in sheer force of will, but I am personally SO grateful to the creators for blessing us with this gem of a game. I can only imagine the volume of blood, sweat and tears that went into the entire Hidden Folks process. Above all, it’s undeniably one-of-a-kind and that is increasingly rare in these crazy (yet somehow still dull) days. The genius and straight-up craftsmanship in the detail and originality of the art, the wonderfully wandering exploration of every odd yet familiar landscape and each one cleverly layered with quirk and humor, meeting all of the equally strange and lovable creatures that inhabit these worlds, the simple secreted treats and overall wabi sabi that make it brilliantly engaging and enjoyable for those of us who relish such things.
